Great start to the season on a sunny, but chilly Bournside pitch at St. George's. We scored 306/3 and Leatherhead got to 242/11 after a great bowling and fielding performance from our boys. Highlights:

- man of the match, Freddie Swain with some great wicketkeeping, batting (18 runs) and bowling (2 wickets in consecutive balls) and a maiden over
- Sam Stevens with 26 runs off the bat and the best push-ups at back stop ever witnessed in an under 10 League game
- Owen Hills with his first ever game of cricket cracking consecutive fours in one over
- our captain for the day, Tom with a wicket and contributing seven runs
- Sammy Zonato and Oli Mistry bowling against their best batting pair and only shipping 18 runs across four overs
- Xavi with his frightening pace keeping their final pair very quiet and Sammy for being brave enough to keep wicket to him
- Dan Dunlop scoring 19 off the bat in the final two overs + taking three wickets - only just missed out on man of the match
- Matty for solid back up to Freddie when batting and for taking a crucial wicket
- Ben for a solid all-round performance including his first over where Leatherhead were minus 7 runs

Thanks to Mark Swain for warming the boys up and to Ian Stevens for umpiring - brilliant help thank you both!

Next week's game is home again at 11.30 on the same pitch at St.George's (Bourneside) against Horsely & Send. Please update your availability ASAP so I can pick a team.

Also, the more volunteers, the merrier, so let me know if you'd like to get involved.

Thanks,
Lou
