After a rain enforced delay to the season - The 4th XI were determined to get the ball rolling by any means necessary. Turning up to a damp, uncovered Old Paulines didn't inspire a great deal of confidence in terms of getting the game on, but the weather held out long enough to get started.

Sheldon unfortunately has developed an Arsenal-like characteristic of only winning the toss when it doesn't really matter, and was put into bat by the opposition. Unsurprisingly Thames Dittton made good use of very favourable bowling conditions and got a few early wickets for their troubles. Bhuvi Chopra added to his ton in the warm up game with a well made 61 in difficult conditions (despite running out his captain for the 2nd time in 2 innings...). Weybridge ended up with 135 - which under most circumstances would be considered below par but with the weather conditions and the state of the pitch wasn't a bad total.

Any hope Thames Ditton had of winning was soon gone as the opening pair of Matt Orledge and Ed Edge ripped apart their top order. they ended with 3 and 4 wickets respectively. Paddy Kenney got the other 3 - including another botched hat-trick attempt! TD all out for 68 - 20 points in the bag and the 4's march to the title is off to a great start.
